Tom Heery

Tom was my oldest brother, Tom was the eldest of our family.

Tom in his British Army uniform.

He joined the British Army during World War Two. His alternative was probably casual labouring or the dole.

When the war ended, he couldn’t find a job, so he emigrated to Australia in the 1940’s. He eventually settled in Tasmania, where he married, and had 4 daughters.

Kerin (the eldest), Patricia, Mary and Leah (the youngest).
Tom left two farms, and Mary still lives on his larger farm.
Leah occasionally lives on his smaller farm.
